eng-test.com has no ads, no paywall and no premium tier. Everything on it is free and stays that way. If it helped you and you can spare it, a tip covers the parts that are not free.
This site was built for people preparing for the TOEIC on their own — often while working, often in a language that is not their first. Charging them felt wrong, so we never have. There is no account you have to upgrade, nothing hidden behind a plan, and no advertising network watching what you practise.
That decision has a cost, and the cost is real rather than rhetorical. Every question in the bank was written, audited and translated. Every practice session hits a database. Every page is served, indexed and kept online. None of that bills itself to nobody.
So this is a tip jar, not a fundraiser. The same idea as dropping something in a busker’s case: you already got the thing, and you are paying for it afterwards because you want to. If money is tight, please skip it and keep practising — that is what the site is for, and a learner who cannot pay is exactly who it was built for.
Where the money goes
Hosting and the database
Serving the site and running the Postgres database behind every practice session. This is the recurring bill that never stops, whether ten people visit or ten thousand.
Growing the question bank
Every item is original, written in modern business-English contexts and checked before it goes live — never copied from a real exam. Writing and auditing new questions is the slowest, most expensive part of the project.
Keeping both languages real
Every explanation exists in English and Thai, and every article on the blog is written twice rather than machine-translated once. Bilingual parity is a standing cost, not a one-off.
Keeping it free of ads
Advertising would pay for all of the above tomorrow. It would also mean trackers on a study page and an incentive to waste your time. Tips are what make refusing that possible.
What a tip is not
A tip buys nothing. There is no supporter tier, no extra questions, no badge and no ad-free version, because the free version is already the whole thing. Your account, if you have one, works exactly the same before and after.
This is a voluntary payment to an independent project, not a charitable donation — eng-test.com is not a registered charity, and a tip is not tax deductible anywhere. It is also not a subscription: nothing is stored to charge you again.

Questions about tipping
Is a tip a one-time payment or a subscription?
- One time. There is no recurring option, nothing is stored to charge you again, and there is no subscription to cancel later.
Do I need an account to leave a tip?
- No. Tipping works without signing in. If you are signed in, the tip is linked to your account so we can recognise it, but nothing about the site changes for you either way.
Can I tip from outside the United States?
- Yes. Amounts are charged in US dollars, and a card issued anywhere that accepts international payments will work. Your bank handles the currency conversion at its own rate.
Is my card safe?
- Payment is handled entirely by Stripe on their own checkout page. eng-test.com never sees, receives or stores your card number — we only learn the amount, your email and your name.
Why is the minimum $3?
- Card processing takes a fixed fee from every payment, so below about $3 most of a tip would go to fees rather than to the site. The maximum is $500, which is a limit on mistakes rather than on generosity.
Is a tip tax deductible?
- No. eng-test.com is an independent project, not a registered charity, so a tip is an ordinary voluntary payment and carries no tax benefit in any country.
Can I get a refund?
- Yes. If you tipped by mistake or changed your mind, contact us and we will refund it. There is no deadline and you do not need a reason.
