eng-test.com has no ads, no paywall and no premium tier. Everything on it is free, and it stays that way because a few people chip in for the parts that are not.
This site was built for people preparing for the TOEIC on their own — often while working, often in a language that is not their first. Charging them felt wrong, so we never have. There is no account you have to upgrade, nothing hidden behind a plan, and no advertising network watching what you practise.
That decision has a cost, and the cost is real rather than rhetorical. Every question in the bank was written, audited and translated. Every practice session hits a database. Every page is served, indexed and kept online. None of that bills itself to nobody.
If the site has been useful to you and you can spare it, a donation covers that gap. If you cannot, please do not — keep practising instead. That is what it is for, and a learner who cannot pay is exactly who it was built for.
Where the money actually goes
Hosting and the database
Serving the site and running the Postgres database behind every practice session. This is the recurring bill that never stops, whether ten people visit or ten thousand.
Growing the question bank
Every item is original, written in modern business-English contexts and checked before it goes live — never copied from a real exam. Writing and auditing new questions is the slowest, most expensive part of the project.
Keeping both languages real
Every explanation exists in English and Thai, and every article on the blog is written twice rather than machine-translated once. Bilingual parity is a standing cost, not a one-off.
Keeping it free of ads
Advertising would pay for all of the above tomorrow. It would also mean trackers on a study page and an incentive to waste your time. Donations are what make refusing that possible.
What a donation is not
A donation buys nothing. There is no supporter tier, no extra questions, no badge and no ad-free version, because the free version is already the whole thing. Your account, if you have one, works exactly the same before and after.
eng-test.com is an independent project and is not affiliated with ETS or the official TOEIC test. Donations support this practice site only.
Questions about donating
Is a donation a one-time payment or a subscription?
- One time. There is no recurring donation option, nothing is stored to charge you again, and there is no subscription to cancel later.
Do I need an account to donate?
- No. Donating works without signing in. If you are signed in, the donation is linked to your account so we can recognise it, but nothing about the site changes for you either way.
Can I donate from outside the United States?
- Yes. Amounts are charged in US dollars, and a card issued anywhere that accepts international payments will work. Your bank handles the currency conversion at its own rate.
Is my card safe?
- Payment is handled entirely by Stripe on their own checkout page. eng-test.com never sees, receives or stores your card number — we only learn the amount, your email and your name.
Why is the minimum $3?
- Card processing takes a fixed fee from every payment, so below about $3 most of a donation would go to fees rather than to the site. The maximum is $500, which is a limit on mistakes rather than on generosity.
Can I get a refund?
- Yes. If you donated by mistake or changed your mind, contact us and we will refund it. There is no deadline and you do not need a reason.
